Sherlock 4.0 is coming!

We are thrilled to announce that the next generation of Stanford's High-Performance Computing cluster is just around the corner. Mark your calendars for August 29, as we prepare to unveil Sherlock 4.0!

Building on the success of previous generations, Sherlock 4.0 promises to deliver unprecedented computational power and enhanced capabilities to support the diverse research needs of the Stanford research community. This major upgrade will empower researchers across disciplines to tackle even more complex problems and push the boundaries of scientific discovery.

While we're keeping the details under wraps, you can expect significant improvements in all areas, with the latest CPU and GPU generations, more processing speed, faster interconnect for improved storage performance and parallel scaling, and more node configurations. Sherlock 4.0 will feature the latest in HPC technology, ensuring that Stanford remains at the forefront of Research Computing.

PIs, Departments and Schools will once again have the opportunity to place orders for their own dedicated Sherlock 4.0 nodes, and node orders will be possible from day one of the launch.

Stay tuned for more details next week. We'll be sharing information about new specs and features, and how you can take full advantage of Sherlock 4.0's capabilities.
